什么是公证？公证是公证机构根据自然人、法人或者其他组织的申请，依照法定程序对民事法律行为、有法律意义的事实和文书的真实性、合法性予以证明的活动。

What is notary? Notarization is an activity in which a notarial office, upon the application of a natural person, a legal person or any other organization, certifies the authenticity and legitimacy of a civil juristic act, facts with legal significance and documents in accordance with legal procedures.

什么是认证？认证也叫领事认证，是指一国的外交、领事机关在公证文书上证明公证机关或认证机关的最后一个签字和印章属实。办理领事认证的目的是使一国出具的公证文书能为另一国有关当局所承认，不致因怀疑文件上的签名或印章是否属实而影响文书的域外法律效力。领事认证通常只确认公证员、公证机关、负责认证官员及机关的签字和盖章属实，不涉及公证内容本身。

What is certification? Certification, also known as consular certification, refers to the fact that the diplomatic and consular authorities of a country certify on a notarial document that the last signature and seal of a notarial or certification authority are true. The purpose of consular authentication is to enable a notarial document issued by one country to be recognized by the relevant authorities of another country without affecting the extraterritorial legal effect of the document due to doubt of the authenticity of the signature or seal on the document. Consular certification usually only confirms the signatures and seals of notaries, notaries, officials in charge of certification and agencies, and does not involve the notarial content itself.
