1. What are the requirements for importing or selling electrical products?

All electrical products imported into Australia or sold in Australia must be proved to be safe. Electrical equipment for specific terms (mandatory or specified) certification must be certified and marked as meeting these requirements.

The SAA Certification body is an external certification program (NSW) reviewed by JAZ-ANZ and approved by the Minister of Fair Trade. At the same time, Victoria's law automatically recognizes our certificates. Other countries in Australia and New Zealand recognise SAA certification bodies under mutual honour agreements.
