单认证是相对于双认证而言，也叫外交部认证。所谓领事认证中的“单认证”，是指涉外公证书或商业文书拟送往国外使用前，办理好所在国外交部或其授权机构的领事认证后，文书使用国告知，无需办理使领馆的领事认证，文书使用国即可接受该文书。这通常被叫做“单认证”。

这就是所谓的单认证。而目前中国尚未加入海牙公约组织，因此，拿到中国和中国拿到国外使用的文书，必须办理双认证，即使馆认证。
